The Buffalo Bills shared a video on social media Saturday night that showed why their playoff game against the Pittsburgh Steelers was postponed.
The Bills and Steelers were originally supposed to play their wild-card round game at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Because of a major snowstorm in the Buffalo area, the game has been moved to Monday at 4:30 p.m. A wild video that the Bills shared on X showed how treacherous conditions were on Saturday evening.
A travel ban remained in effect in Buffalo as of Sunday morning. The Bills are planning to hire fans to help shovel snow at Highmark Stadium for $20 per hour, but that plan is also on hold. The team provided an update on Sunday morning asking snow shovelers to not attempt to drive to the stadium until travel bans are lifted.
The Steelers are planning to fly to Buffalo on Sunday afternoon, but it is unclear if that will happen. NFL and local officials are monitoring the situation to see if there will need to be another postponement.
Many fans were disappointed that the game was postponed, as the weather would have added a distinctive element. There may still be snow flying if and when the game kicks off on Monday.
Either the Bills or Steelers will already be playing on a short week in the divisional round, so postponing the game again is a last resort. There was even one rumor that the location of the game could be changed, but it does not sound like the NFL has any plans to go that route.
