Watch: Bills share footage of terrifying snowpocalypse hammering Highmark Stadium

With heavy snow expected to continue in the Buffalo area through Sunday night, the NFL postponed the Bills' wild-card playoff matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers until Monday afternoon.

On Saturday, roughly 24 hours before the initial kick-off time, the team showed why the league took such drastic measures.

While the world tuned into the rest of the AFC bracket of action, the Bills revealed an apocalyptic scene at Highmark Stadium, already battered by extreme blizzardy conditions.

Selfishly, imagining the Bills and Steelers battling it out in knee-deep snow drifts sounds entertaining. However, it's hard to comprehend how a competent football game could unfold in an environment where survival would be the biggest issue for almost any other human.

Furthermore, the storm is supposed to intensify, dumping potentially one to two feet of snow on the Orchard Park area between Saturday and Monday afternoon.

With much at stake, including player and fan safety, the league probably made the right call in pushing the game to 4:30 p.m. EST on Monday ahead of the Philadelphia Eagles-Tampa Bay Buccaneers tilt in balmy Florida.

Yet, it's still fun to dream about what could've been had the league let the game go on as scheduled, played smack dab in the middle of a snowpocalypse.
