Tyreek Hill wins 60-meter race at USA Track and Field Indoor Championships
Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill has never shied away from testing his speed.
Saturday saw him put it to the track as the seven-time Pro Bowler participated in and won the 60-meter race in the 25-29 age group at the USA Track and Field Masters Indoor Championships in Louisville, Kentucky.
Hill finished the race in 6.70 seconds, comfortably winning the competition.
It was the first true track race that Hill had competed in since 2014, when he was a high schooler with Douglas, Georgia's Coffee High School. At Coffee, he was named "High School Athlete of the Year" by Track and Field News and an All-American by USA Today in 2012.
He would go on to race collegiately for one season at Oklahoma State, when he showed out as the Big 12's indoor 200-meter champion (20.81 seconds).
While his 60-meter time is impressive, it should probably be noted that Hill wasn't competing against Olympic sprinters and that his time was considerably slower than Christian Coleman's 6.34-second world record.
Hill did manage to set a record for speed of his own during the 2016-17 NFL season, reaching 23.24 MPH during a 105-yard kickoff return against the Houston Texans, the fastest ball carrier speed ever recorded by Next Gen Stats.
A penalty nullified the touchdown.
In the past, Hill has entertained the possibility of competing in the Olympics and even challenged eight-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt to a race, but he might have retired after Saturday's victorious sprint.
"Never racing again had me out there looking wild," Hill tweeted following his victorious 60-yard jaunt. The star receiver accumulated career highs in receptions (119) and receiving yards (1,710) for the Dolphins this past season.
We're guessing he won't have to quit his day job anytime soon.
