It seems as though Goedert was minding his own business. Rich Barnes-USA TODAY Sports

We are beginning to get more information about a bizarre incident allegedly involving Philadelphia Eagles tight end Dallas Goedert that took place Friday.

Goedert was hospitalized briefly after being punched at a South Dakota restaurant. New footage from what appears to be a security camera shared online essentially backs the story that Goedert was punched out of nowhere without any provocation.

It’s clear that there was some sort of altercation taking place before the punch, but Goedert didn’t look heavily involved. If anything, he seemed to be trying to diffuse the situation before he got hit and knocked to the ground.

We still know very little about the circumstances of this, or why it happened to the 25-year-old tight end. We do know Goedert is okay, which is the most important part.
