When players move on from organizations, there are a lot of emotions involved. When you are one of the best players in franchise history, as Patrick Peterson was for the Arizona Cardinals, there is part of you that still wants to see them succeed even when you move on. He has since moved on to the Minnesota Vikings, but has stayed vocal about things.

Peterson was named to the Hall of Fame’s All-2010s team as he spent 10 seasons with the Cardinals as one of the premier cornerbacks in the NFL. He is currently in his second season with the Vikings and has regained some of his old form, grading out as one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL thus far this season.

The 12 passes defended that Peterson has is the most for him in a season since 2013 when he had 13. He has three interceptions as well, showing the playmaking and ball skills that he displayed throughout his prime years in the desert.

Three of those defended passes came against his old team in Week 6. Peterson and the Vikings defeated the Cardinals 34-26 as part of their seven-game winning streak. While that game was nearly two months ago, Peterson recently made some headlines talking about his former team.

On the All Things Covered Podcast, Peterson took a huge shot at Cardinals quarterback, Kyler Murray. Murray and Peterson were teammates for two seasons after Murray was selected No. 1 overall out of Oklahoma in 2020. Peterson essentially said that Murray is a selfish player and that he only cares about himself.

Peterson’s comments are likely in response to what Murray said following Arizona’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 12. He was asked about an interception that was thrown in the second quarter, to which Murray basically threw the coaching staff under the bus, blaming the schematics.

Murray responded to Peterson on Twitter, as this sounds like whatever relationship the two had could very well be over. Those were strong words from Peterson and Murray did not take kindly to them.
