Vikings trade for P.J. Hall voided after failed physical

The Minnesota Vikings won't be adding defensive tackle P.J. Hall to the team's roster, after all.

A day after reports emerged that the Vikings traded with the Las Vegas Raiders for Hall's services, ESPN's Courtney Cronin wrote that the 25-year-old lineman failed his physical.

The Raiders, thus, retain Hall's rights. Las Vegas is expected to release him.

The Raiders used pick No. 57 of the 2018 NFL Draft on the defensive tackle out of Sam Houston State. Hall appeared in 30 games for the Raiders and tallied 1.5 sacks and 49 total tackles.

Per Will Ragatz of Sports Illustrated, Raiders head coach Jon Gruden and general manager Mike Mayock grew frustrated over Hall's inability to control his weight and also a perceived lack of consistent effort from the veteran of two seasons. The Vikings were willing to part with a conditional 2021 seventh-round pick for Hall, but that transaction is now nullified.
