The Kansas City Chiefs got off to a slow start in their Week 17 game against the Cincinnati Bengals and that led to a couple of players losing their cool on the sideline.

Kansas City’s defense struggled in the first half as the Bengals jumped out to a 17-7 lead. After quarterback Jake Browning scrambled for a one-yard touchdown, Chiefs linebacker Willie Gay was shown on the CBS broadcast screaming at a teammate on the sideline.

Sideline reporter Tracy Wolfson passed along that Gay and defensive end Charles Omenihu were arguing with one another as they came off the field. Gay had to be restrained by teammates. Chris Jones eventually helped smooth things over.

The defending Super Bowl champion Chiefs entered Sunday with three losses in their last four games. They have not played to their usual standard and are coming off a very frustrating Christmas Day loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Andy Reid reportedly made a significant change to Kansas City’s offensive approach heading into Week 17. Time will tell if it provides the team with the spark they have been desperately seeking.
