Eagles fans celebrated the 31-7 blowout against the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday. The riot police arrived at the scene in Downtown Philly as thousands of people took to the streets.

The city officials tried to block off almost a square mile around City Hall. They went as far as to grease its poles. This didn’t stop fans from stopping traffic, climbing poles, and just raising some cane.  Philadelphia Police Commissioner Danielle Outlaw begged residents to behave by saying, “Remember: climbing greased poles isn’t a Reality TV Show challenge!”

It got so rowdy that fans outside of Philadelphia’s City Hall rode on the tailgate of an ambulance as it tried to navigate through the crowd with an unconscious person.

It didn’t stop there. Several Eagles fans climbed on top of a bus stop and fell through the roof. The number of injuries from this incident is currently unknown.

Jim Kenney, Philadelphia Mayor, encouraged fans to celebrate “joyously, safely, and respectfully” by giving this statement:

“Congratulations to Jeff Lurie, Howie Roseman, Nick Sirianni, and all the coaches, players and staff of this year’s NFC Champions – our Philadelphia Eagles! This has been an energizing season from the start, and we are excited that the Eagles are going to fly all the way to the Super Bowl. As a lifelong Philadelphian and the Mayor of this great city I am thrilled to see fans of all ages and from every neighborhood celebrating side by side, full of pride and excitement. This is a wonderful night and I ask Philadelphians to celebrate joyously, safely, and respectfully. And remember: It’s a Philly thing.”

If the Eagles win the upcoming Super Bowl, it could get even crazier. This shouldn’t come as a surprise after the havoc the Eagles fans wrecked after their win in the 2018 Super Bowl. They will definitely need more than pole grease in the event of an Eagles Super Bowl victory.
