Watch: Ravens mascot, Poe, makes triumphant return off IR during 'Sunday Night Football'
The Baltimore Ravens activated a crucial member of their organization off of injured reserve ahead of their Week 17 "Sunday Night Football" game against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The team's longtime mascot, Poe, shed his cast and burst out of his wheelchair on Sunday night, as his replacements -- Edgar and Allan -- along with the thousands of Ravens fans in attendance, welcomed Poe back for the rivalry contest. Baltimore lost to Pittsburgh however, 16-13.
Poe was injured in late August during a mascot and youth football scrimmage that took place during the team's preseason game against the Washington Commanders and had to be carted off the field. The mascot was placed on IR in early September.
Poe's brothers -- Edgar and Allan -- retired after the 2008 season but replaced their brother as this season's mascots when he suffered the injury. The trio are named after poet Edgar Allan Poe, who published "The Raven" in 1845.
The Ravens (10-6) have clinched a playoff berth but would lose their shot at the AFC North title if the Cincinnati Bengals (11-4) were to defeat the Buffalo Bills (12-3) on "Monday Night Football."
