Ravens bringing back mascots Edgar and Allan to replace injured Poe

The Baltimore Ravens' yearly injury problems went beyond the playing roster this season when their mascot, Poe, was injured during a preseason game and lost for the season

But never fear! The Ravens have a solution. On Friday, they announced that they are bringing back former mascots Edgar and Allan to fill in for their injured brother, Poe.

They even managed to get general manager Eric DeCosta to play along for the video announcement.

You have to admire the Ravens' commitment to this storyline, as well as the willingness of the team's general manager and head coach — John Harbaugh was involved in the Poe announcement — to play along with this. Most football people would take themselves too seriously during the season for this sort of fun.

The Ravens originally used all three mascots but retired Edgar and Allan after the 2008 season. This is the perfect opportunity to bring them back.
