Watch: Washington narrowly survives wacky Seahawks comeback bid

The Seattle Seahawks offense was stuck in the mud for almost all of the second half of a Monday Night Football game against Washington, but it sprung to life in time for a wacky end to the Week 12 game. However, the comeback effort from the Seahawks wasn't enough, and Washington survived to win, 17-15.

It looked like Washington put the game on ice with a 3-yard touchdown pass on a fourth down with just over two minutes left. However, officials ruled that the pass caught by tight end Logan Thomas was bobbled and hit the ground.

The Seahawks took over on offense and -- despite having just one first down over their six previous drives -- managed to put together a 10-play, 97-yard touchdown drive capped by a 32-yard pass from Russell Wilson to Freddie Swain.

But Seattle couldn't finish the drive with a successful two-point conversion. Wilson looked for Swain again, but Washington cornerback Kendall Fuller snatched an interception to preserve the lead.

That left the Seahawks needing an onside kick to keep their hopes alive. It looked as though Seattle actually managed to pull off the feat, but the Seahawks were penalized for an illegal formation after lining up for the kickoff improperly. Washington managed to jump on top of a second onside kick attempt.

Seattle dropped to 3-8 with its sixth loss in seven games, while Washington (5-6) moved into the seventh and final playoff spot in the NFC with a third consecutive win.
