What RB Ronald Jones brings to the Cowboys

Running back Ronald Jones is the newest member of the Dallas Cowboys

He, alone, won't be able to replace the Ezekiel Elliott sized hole in Dallas' roster, but the Cowboys are undoubtedly hoping that he, along with Tony Pollard, will be able to keep running game humming and chains moving in 2023.

It will be a one year deal between Jones and the Cowboys:

So what is it that Dallas is hoping to get out of Jones?

Again, the Cowboys aren't expecting him to replace Zeke, but he along with Pollard can be a potent one-two punch behind a good offensive line.

Throw in Dak Prescott coming into his season healthy for seemingly the first time in forever and Mike McCarthy back at the helm of his offense, and there is reason to be optimistic.

In Jones, the Cowboys are getting a veteran back who can run tough between the tackles but also still has a little bit of elusively in him. He's also an experienced Super Bowl champion, which is a trait that will be extremely important in Dallas' locker room.

Jones won the Super Bowl as part of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the team that drafted him, in 2021. He was also part of the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs this past season.

Notably, Jones played football at McKinney North High School in McKinney, Texas — which is less than an hour drive away from AT&T Stadium, his new football home.
