The NHL season starts tomorrow, and there is big news going on in LA Kings land, both good and bad.

Let’s start with the bad news first. Forward Viktor Arvidsson left practice early on Monday and wasn’t seen on the ice Tuesday. General Manager Rob Blake spoke to the media after practice and confirmed Arvidsson has a lower-body injury and is day-to-day, per Hockey Royalty’s Russell Morgan.

Now, let’s focus on the great news. After a strong preseason showing in LA and Ontario, forward Alex Laferriere was recalled yesterday and skated with Kevin Fiala and Pierre-Luc Dubois. Blake also confirmed that Laferriere will make his NHL debut tomorrow against the Colorado Avalanche.

A well-deserved opportunity for the Harvard product, who will look to keep his spot for the foreseeable future.
