Avalanche forward Nazem Kadri 'day-to-day'

When Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final commences on Wednesday night, the Colorado Avalanche will look to dethrone the two-time defending champion Tampa Bay Lightning. Before the Avalanche officially clinched their spot in the Final, forward Nazem Kadri suffered a thumb injury against the Edmonton Oilers, and it appeared his fate for the rest of the postseason had been sealed.

While his status for the series-opener on Wednesday is still unclear, Colorado head coach Jared Bednar had an update on both Kadri and veteran Andrew Cogliano.

Kadri hasn't played since Game 3 of the Western Conference Final against the Oilers. In 13 contests this postseason, the 31-year-old has six goals and eight assists for 14 points.
