HERE WE GO
It’s official, the National Hockey League (NHL) has released the schedule for the Stanley Cup Final, which will open up on Wednesday, June 4th in Edmonton.
The Florida Panthers will battle it out with the Edmonton Oilers in a rematch from last year. It is the Panthers’ third year in a row making it to the Stanley Cup Final. While Connor McDavid and the Edmonton Oilers look for revenge and to become the first Canadian NHL team since 1993 to bring Lord Stanley north of the border.
We saw the Panthers take down the Tampa Bay Lightning in the first round, then they defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs in a rollercoaster seven-game series and then dismantled the Carolina Hurricanes in the Conference Final.
Meanwhile, the Oilers took out the Los Angeles Kings in the first round once again before moving on and taking out the Vegas Golden Knights before finally beating Mikko Rantanen and the Dallas Stars. During that series, McDavid achieved yet another offensive milestone in his career, and is once again one of the fastest players to do so, as the Oilers captain became the second-fastest player to get to 100 assists in the playoffs in NHL history.
