Watch: Rangers fans take over Devils arena, troll fans with chant

The New Jersey Devils have been no match for the New York Rangers in the first two games of their opening round playoff series.

Thanks to their 5-1 win on Thursday, the Rangers own a 2-0 series lead after winning both games in Newark. Hearing the crowd, though, you would have never known those were road games for the Rangers.

Rangers fans made the short trek across the Hudson and not only let out booming cheers for each of the blue shirts goals, they also taunted Devils fans late in the game by letting them know which team has the better goalie.

There is not a hockey fan or analyst on the planet that would question whether or not Igor Shesterkin is better than the Devils' current starter Vitek Vanecek. So Rangers fans are not really breaking new ground here by letting the world know that.

But here is the thing. That chant is not about Vanecek.

That is a direct shot at Hall of Fame goalie Martin Brodeur.
Brodeur was the center of the Rangers-Devils rivalry for more than a decade, helping the latter to three Stanley Cups and some playoff victories over the Rangers.

The goalie debate consistently raged on between Brodeur and Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist. Now that Lundqvist is retired and no longer leading the Rangers, they have a new superstar in goal that they have bragging rights with. And they were very clear to voice that on Thursday.
