The agent of Getafe defender Erick Cabaco has revealed that his client has ‘a good chance of playing for Milan’.

It is somewhat out of the blue as Milan have never been linked with Cabaco by any source, but his representative Gerardo Arias made the claim on Sport 890 which is a radio station in Uruguay.

“I am currently in Milan, I’m about to have a very important meeting, because Erick Cabaco has a good chance of playing for Milan,” he said (via FootballItalia).

The 26-year-old primarily operates as a centre-back but has also filled in at right-back too, with a contract running until 2024 after Getafe bought him from fellow LaLiga side Levante back in January 2020 for a fee of €8m.

Milan have not been linked with many centre-backs in the current window as Fikayo Tomori made his loan from Chelsea a permanent deal, while the centre-back department also consists of Simon Kjaer, Alessio Romagnoli, Matteo Gabbia and Mattia Caldara.

It is possible that sales could occur to open up spots in the squad, but for the time being it seems to be a head scratching transfer link.
