Bayern Munich are to set to send Joao Cancelo back to Manchester City at the end of the season.

The Portuguese defender, 28, made a shock loan move to the Bundesliga club in January after falling out of favour with Pep Guardiola at City.

But although Bayern have an option to buy Cancelo outright for 60million this summer, at the moment they do not intend to take it up, says the Daily Star.

The German giants reckon they will have more pressing priorities in the next transfer window - leaving Cancelo's future in doubt.

The fact City boss Guardiola was happy to let one of his star performers go, suggests the pair will not be settling their differences if and when reluctantly reunited.
