Striker Edin Dzeko could leave Inter Milan this summer rather than signing a new contract.

This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews, who report that it is not yet a foregone conclusion that the Bosnian former Roma and Manchester City man will stay on with the Nerazzurri for another season.

As things stand, Dzeko’s contract runs out at the end of this month.

The Bosnian signed from Roma on a two-year deal in the summer of 2021.

Inter are reportedly keen to extend Dzeko‘s deal. Reports suggest that negotiations have reached an advanced stage and a new contract isn’t far away for the 37-year-old.

In spite of his age, Dzeko has been an important player for the Nerazzurri throughout the season.

However, alternatively, there is no guarantee that Dzeko will stay.

Tuttosport note that there are offers for the Bosnian’s signature from Major League Soccer as well as teams in Saudi Arabia.

Edin Dzeko Could Follow Joaquin Correa Out The Door At Inter Milan

One player who does look set to leave Inter this summer is forward Joaquin Correa.

The Argentine has never really found form in a Nerazzurri shirt. Injuries have played a major role in disrupting his progress.

Tuttosport that Correa’s departure would likely clear a path for the arrival of Mateo Retegui.

However, this may not be the only upheaval that Inter’s squad sees across the attacking positions.

The signing of Retegui could also change Inter’s thinking about the future of Dzeko. If the Nerazzurri decide to build around the 23-year-old Italy international, Dzeko’s place may no longer be secure.

The next few weeks will be decisive for Dzeko’s future in an Inter shirt.

With the Bosnian’s deal expiring in a few weeks, the Nerazzurri will decide on his future once and for all.
