Former Tottenham striker Harry Kane lifted his first-ever trophy after Bayern Munich reclaimed the Bundesliga title following a 2-0 victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach.

The 31-year-old netted after half an hour to secure his side’s grip on the title, which had been wrestled out of their grasp by Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen a year prior.

Many lamented Harry Kane’s move to Bavaria as unambitious, mistaken to turn his back on the Premier League.

However, the joy exuding his face as he hoisted the Meisterschale firmly proved the doubters wrong.

After reflecting upon the momentous occasion in his career, Kane expressed his emotions further on social media.

Harry Kane celebrates Bundesliga title

Posting to Instagram, Bayern’s talisman wrote: “Sharing special moments with my family is everything.”

The picture shows Kane and his family taking the moment in, an eventuality the former Tottenham forward would’ve been dreaming about since he landed in Germany.

Not winning silverware during his first term with Bayern will no doubt have hurt Kane, given it was the primary reason he moved to the Allianz Arena.

However, those concerns will now be quelled, with his mission now most definitely complete.

How did Kane perform for Bayern in their title-winning season?

For years at Tottenham, Kane was the club’s standout performer and usually the difference between the team winning or losing fixtures.

His influence hasn’t ceased since moving to Bayern, but he is now perhaps surrounded by a squad of higher class, which in turn complements his skillset to achieve a higher output.

Netting 25 goals in 28 Bundesliga starts is a mesmeric return, one that is sure to satisfy the Bayern board, who forked out a hefty £86.4m fee for the striker two years ago, according to BBC Sport.

2024/25 37 10 45

Despite missing three games, Kane heads the league’s scoring charts and looks set to clinch his second successive Torjägerkanone (Bundesliga top scorer award).

Achieving 0.95 goals per 90 minutes is an insane level to be operating at, a statistic that highlights Kane’s unwavering work ethic and tremendous talent.

As Thomas Müller exits, England’s record goalscorer has now fully announced himself to the Bayern supporters as a hero who can lead them to future glory.

A nearly-man no more, Kane’s long wait for a trophy is finally over.
