Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi wouldn’t mind rekindling his collaboration with his Joaquin Correa.

The Argentine was one of the manager’s pupils during their time together at Lazio. When the 48-year-old made the switch to Inter, the striker followed suit.

However, Correa failed to replicate the success he enjoyed in the Italian capital during his two years at Appiano Gentile.

Therefore, the Nerazzurri management sent him to Olympique Marseille on loan last summer.

Sadly for the Argentina international, he is enduring a forgettable campaign in Southern France.

Therefore, the Ligue 1 side won’t exercise their option to buy him for 10 million euros at the of the season.

However, OM will have the obligation to do so if they were to qualify for the Champions League. The only viable route at the moment would be winning the Europa League, as they take part in the competition’s semi-final.

So aside form Marseille winning the Europa League, Correa will most likely return to Inter.

But according to Tuttosport via FcInterNews, Inzaghi wouldn’t mind this scenario at all.

While the management is hoping to get rid of the Argentine, the manager still has a soft spot for the attacker whom he considers a “godson”, explains the source.

Inter Milan Coach Simone Inzaghi Wouldn’t Mind A Reunion With Joaquin Correa

Therefore, Inzaghi would be happy to maintain Correa as a fifth striker next season, which would be his last before his contract expires.

But as the source tells it, this could complicate Inter’s attempts to sign Albert Gudmundsson from Genoa. That is because the Nerazzurri would need to free up some space to make way for the Icelandic star.

Inter are also facing stern competition for the 26-year-old who has admirers both in Italy and abroad.
