Manchester City have reportedly completed a deal to bring Savio to the Etihad this summer. The Brazilian has starred for Girona this campaign during his loan spell at the club from Troyes. Savio appears set to become the first player to graduate through the City Football Group ranks to earn a move to the current European champions.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano reported via his official X account yesterday that City had completed a deal to sign Savio from Troyes. Furthermore, Romano adds that the young winger will join Pep Guardiola’s squad on July 1st.

Savio’s reported arrival this summer at the world champions will add to their options on the wing. Currently, Pep Guardiola has Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, Oscar Bobb, Bernardo Silva and Phil Foden at his disposal for the wing position. The young Brazilian will add another dynamic option to Manchester City’s ranks given his profile as a player. His dribbling ability and eye for a pass and goal will be welcome attributes to the Manchester City squad.

Savio has shown there is a path to Manchester City through the City Football Group

There is also the added caveat of Savio’s path to a future move to Manchester City. The young Brazilian was signed by CFG club Troyes from Atletico Mineiro in July 2022. He had an unsuccessful loan spell at Dutch giants PSV in the 22/23 season. Savio was subsequently loaned to Girona for this season where his excellent form has seemingly paved the way for his move to Manchester City.

Savio has shown there is a path to Manchester City through the City Football Group. His imminent move could potentially pave the way for other players to earn a move to the world champions through the CFG ranks.
