Aston Villa out of favor midfielder Morgan Sanson is poised to join Nice on loan for the year.

The 28-year-old has departed the club's preseason tour of the United States to seal the move, per the Express and Star.

Sanson has played only six league games from the start at Villa since arriving in January 2021.

The former France under-21 international was on loan at Strasbourg during the second half of last season.

Nice have also added an option to buy Sanson at any point during his loan spell this term.

Villa are without Leander Dendoncker during preseason, as his wife was in labor, while Leon Bailey is ready to join up with the first team squad.
