According to Tottenham News, Tottenham believe they have found the perfect midfield partner for James Maddison in Kalvin Phillips and will make a move for him in the upcoming transfer window.

The report claims that Spurs ‘are keen’ to make a move for the out of favour Manchester City midfielder.

Phillips is said to be Spurs’ ‘number one priority’ if the club decides to enter the market for a midfielder which they most definitely will.

Spurs are short of options in the midfield at the moment. James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur are out injured while Bissouma is not only suspended but will also miss upto a month of club football due to his participation in the upcoming AFCON alongside Pape Matar Sarr.

Which is why Spurs are very much likely to add another midfield to their squad in the January window and Phillips is one of the names linked the most this transfer window.

This season, the England midfielder has featured in only four Premier League matches for City and is prepared to leave the club in pursuit of more regular playing time in the first team.

The player wants more playing time which Spurs can offer.
