Paris Saint-Germain implemented a new transfer policy this past summer. The capital club wants top French talent, especially those from the Greater Paris Area.

With PSG adopting this new way of thinking, will players from Paris consider playing for the Ligue 1 side in the future? Randal Kolo Muani decided to come home, leaving Eintracht Frankfurt.

In an interview with Canal Plus, Liverpool FC defender Ibrahima Konaté was asked whether he’d consider returning to his hometown to play with PSG. Konaté didn’t rule out the possibility that one day he’ll play at the Parc des Princes.

“To say no to you would be to lie to you, but to tell you that this is one of my goals currently, no, not at all,” Konaté told the French media outlet (h/t Paris Fans). “Currently in the middle of the season with Liverpool, it makes perfect sense that PSG is not one of his targets. Even if it is the club from his native region, today, nothing directly links him to it.

“However, if PSG were to want to secure his services, the situation could completely change, as was the case for Randal Kolo Muani, a 24-year-old striker who left Eintracht Frankfurt for PSG this summer.”

The Frenchman is under contract with the Reds until 2026. If the center-back doesn’t sign an extension, he’d become a free agent at 27 years old and in the middle of his prime years. Should Konaté reach free agency in a couple of years, expect PSG to knock on his door to bring him home.
