Report: Kylian Mbappe chooses Paris Saint-Germain over Real Madrid

Days after reports indicated Paris Saint-Germain had given up on its hopes of retaining Kylian Mbappé, the French soccer star has reportedly reversed course and told Real Madrid that he will stay with PSG for the foreseeable future.

According to multiple reports on Saturday, Mbappé spoke to Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez to tell him of his decision to stay with PSG.

Mbappé, 23, led Ligue 1 in goals for a fourth straight year, finishing this season with 25 goals and a career-best 18 assists. He also scored six goals in PSG's eight Champions League matches, including a stoppage time winner against Real Madrid in February. PSG was eventually eliminated by Real Madrid with a 3-1 loss in the second leg of their round of 16 matchup.

The terms of Mbappé's contract with PSG have not yet been revealed, but ESPN reports that it'll be a three-year contract for the forward.

In 2017, Mbappé made his debut with the French national team and, in 2018, he became the second teenager to ever score in a World Cup Final. He began his senior club career in 2015 at age 16 with Ligue 1's AS Monaco before joining PSG two years later.
