Wingback Juan Cuadrado will be back in action for Inter Milan some time towards the end of April.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.

Cuadrado has been out of action for several months.

The 35-year-old underwent surgery on the Achilles tendon in his left ankle in December.

This followed a number of weeks in which Cuadrado had dealt with recurring problems with the tendon.

The Colombian had attempted to play through the issue. He made a number of appearances from the bench for Inter, and also started against Real Sociedad in the Champions League.

However, Cuadrado eventually had to go under the knife.

The former Juventus, Chelsea, and Fiorentina veteran underwent surgery to correct the issue – and the recovery process always looked as though it would sideline the player for no less than three months.

Juan Cuadrado To Return To Action For Inter Milan Towards The End Of April

A return for Cuadrado has been getting closer and closer, though.

There had even been some hope that the 35-year-old could be back for this Monday’s Serie A match against Udinese.

However, the Gazzetta report, that would still be too soon for Cuadrado.

The former Bianconeri man should be able to make a full return to training soon. But there will then be the matter of regaining match fitness.

Naturally, after such a long period on the sidelines, Cuadrado will not immediately be fully fit to play.

So the 35-year-old will build match fitness over the next week or two.

Inter’s next three matches during the month of April come against Cagliari, AC Milan, and Torino.

Cuadrado could feature in the squad for those matches. Then, the Colombian should be ready to play a part in the final stretch of the campaign in May.
