Roma midfielder Bryan Cristante played down his row with Marcus Thuram at the end of Sunday's defeat against Inter Milan.

Thuram proved the matchwinner on the day and had an exchange with Cristante at the final whistle.

The midfielder later said: "It was nothing major, things on the field. We clarified immediately.

"We had prepared for it like this, at the moment we are a little short of men and energy.

"Romelu (Lukaku) is fine, it's not like if he doesn't score a goal for one evening something will happen. It was a difficult match for everyone."

Asked about chasing fourth place, Cristante added: "Yes, we didn't start well, but now I think we're in a good moment: we were coming off a good streak of victories and today we lost in the final against a strong team."
