Almost two months after suffering a mysterious injury, Nicolo Rovella is finally close to getting back out onto the pitch with Lazio.

The 22-year-old Italian midfielder, who started to shine under Maurizio Sarri following his slow start back in the autumn, has not made an appearance for the Biancocelesti since the 3-1 loss to Atalanta at the start of February, over six weeks ago.

Rovella has missed Lazio’s last six league matches due to inflammation of pubic bone, an issue that didn’t initially appear concerning but ultimately proved frustrating for the 22-year-old. This season, he’s seen around 1453 minutes of action across 24 matches.

As reported by La Lazio Siamo Noi, Rovella is expected to return to Lazio squad training at Formello next week, finally allowing him to see the light at the end of the tunnel after his six weeks on the sidelines.

The 22-year-old is hoping to be fully fit ahead of the Derby della Capitale with Roma on 6th April.
