AC Milan president Paolo Scaroni has once again reiterated that the club remain focused on building a new stadium in San Donato but will not close the door on the idea of renovating San Siro.

Webuild recently came forward to offer their availability and services to take on the San Siro renovation project in a way that would not affect the usage of the stadium while the works are ongoing.

This was later followed by reports that Milan’s owner, Gerry Cardinale, and Inter’s owner, Steven Zhang, had recently been in contact about the possibility of working together on a joint plan.

In an in-depth report on the future of San Siro carried out by the local news channel TG1 (via Calciomercato.com), Scaroni was asked to respond to the declarations from Webuild about San Siro.

“What matters is that this renovation can result in a modern stadium, in which we can continue to play during the works with the public. San Donato? We are concentrated on this project, which remains the priority,” he said.

According to the latest from felicaraimondo.it, Milan are continuing to think along the lines of having their own facility. The stadium in San Donato includes a program agreement which must be completed by law by spring 2026 and this agreement, once signed and ratified, will constitute the urban planning title to begin work by the end of that year.

Milan intend to proceed with the San Donato plan (the idea is to play in the new facility as early as 2029) and Milan if the San Siro scenario becomes concrete it will only remain as a possible plan B.
