Feyenoord striker Santiago Giménez could join Tottenham Hotspur ahead of next season.

The North London club want to reinforce their attack in the upcoming transfer window. They are looking to bring in a new number nine and have been interested in Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez for a while now.

According to a report from TUDN, the 23-year-old could join Spurs in the summer. Journalist Julio Rodriguez also feels that Tottenham are one of the two likely destinations for the player, with the other being AC Milan.

Tottenham decided against signing a replacement for Harry Kane last summer. While they have coped well with his absence, they are now looking to bring in a top-quality forward who can help them in the long run.

Ange Postecoglou feels a prominent goal scorer will help them bridge the gap at the top. Giménez has been on their radar for a long time and they have scouted him on multiple occasions. The 23-year-old has 24 goals and seven assists in his 40 outings this term which suggests he could be a great addition to their squad.

The Mexican international recently made a trip to London along with his agent. He was present at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to watch the home team square up against rivals Arsenal at the weekend. The trip was seen as a sign that he could be on the move to the Premier League in the summer.

The player reportedly wants the move and Spurs are keen on securing his services. The 23-year-old will cost around £36 million, a fee that the North London club can surely afford. While they will face competition from AC Milan for his signature, the recent developments suggest he could prefer a move to England ahead of next season.
