French referee Francois Letexier oversaw Atalanta‘s recent match against Liverpool in Bergamo and has been appointed for tonight’s Europa League semifinal first leg between Roma and Bayer Leverkusen.

French official Letexier returns to Italy tonight for the first leg of the Europa League semifinal first leg between Roma and Bayer Leverkusen.

The 34-year-old was appointed for Atalanta’s 1-0 loss to Liverpool on April 18, but it was a painless loss for La Dea, who still secured a 3-1 aggregate win, qualifying for the Europa League semis for the first time ever.

Who is Roma vs. Bayer Leverkusen referee Letexier

Letexier has already overseen two Roma games this season: a 4-0 win over Brighton at the Stadio Olimpico in the Europa League Round of 16 and a 2-0 away defeat to Slavia Praha with José Mourinho in charge of the Giallorossi.

As for Atalanta-Liverpool, Letexier’s assistants in Rome will be his compatriots Cyril Mugnier and Mehdi Rahmouni, while Jerome Brisard and Willy Delajod will oversee VAR. The fourth official changes given that Rade Obrenovic replaces Pierre Gaillouste on the touchline.

This past October, Letexie was the referee in Inter‘s 2-1 victory over RB Salzburg at San Siro, and more recently, he was appointed for Lazio‘s 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the first leg of the Round of 16.

His debut in the Champions League group stage came in December 2020, when he oversaw Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against FC Midtjylland.
