Nick Kyrgios blasts Novak Djokovic over positive coronavirus tests

Often a controversial figure in the tennis world, 25-year-old Nick Kyrgios was a voice of reason on social media after world No. 1 Novak Djokovic tested positive for the coronavirus.

Djokovic, his wife, and three others involved with organizing the Adria Tour, an exhibition held in Croatia, tested positive for COVID-19, which led to the outspoken Kyrgios taking to Twitter to hit out at the idea of resuming tournaments of any kind during the pandemic:

While Kyrgios probably could have moved on from the matter from there, he returned to social media after videos of Djokovic and others dancing shirtless in a Belgrade nightclub ahead of the positive test results went public:

Whether or not Kyrgios now gets a pass for past mistakes is in the eye of the beholder.

Throughout his career, Kyrgios has openly admitted to "tanking" and feeling disinterested in playing. Per Reuters (h/t The Guardian), he received a fine of $113,000, an additional financial punishment of $25,000, and a 16-week suspension last Sept. following a meltdown at the Cincinnati Masters:

Yahoo Sport Australia added that was the largest fine in ATP history. That said, as far as we're aware, he isn't responsible for recklessly spreading COVID-19.
