As a Hand Cannon in Destiny 2, Judgment thrives in PvP contexts but falls off in PvE. Later today, players can farm for Judgment from the Prophecy Dungeon in the Rite of the Nine event. The update is the second time the Hand Cannon from Prophecy receives a perk refresh. Prophecy weapons previously got updated during the final season of Lightfall, Season of the Wish.
Destiny 2 Judgment Overview
Judgment is Adaptive Frame Stasis Hand Cannon. If you are looking for a PvE Hand Cannon, Judgment is not the place to look. While it has PvE perks, none of them boost the weapon’s effectiveness, and most other weapon archetypes use the Stasis perks better. However, Judgment is viable in PvP, with multiple perks for players to choose from.
Judgment has twelve perks for players to choose from. The left-column perks are Demolitionist, Headstone, Keep Away, Lone Wolf, Rapid Hit, and Slideshot. The right column has Adrenaline Junkie, Opening Shot, Paracausal Affinity, Precision Instrument, Rimestealer, and Timed Payload.
PvE God Roll
Judgment has the Stasis perk combination of Headstone and Rimestealer. These boost the efficacy of the Hand Cannon. However, its weapon archetype means it gets far less use out of the combination compared to other weapons. The perks provide some Area of Effect Damage with the Stasis Crystals and survivability, but overall, it is not enough to make Judgment a better Hand Cannon than others in the same slot. Both Fatebringer and Midnight Coup outperform this Hand Cannon, so look to those for PvE.

PvP God Roll
The Crucible is where the Hand Cannon will shine the best. Each column has more than one perk to choose from, so players need not worry too much about getting the perfect perks. The left-column perks you choose will be based on personal preference.
Keep Away is for players who want to stay as far away from their opponents as possible. Keep in mind that this may not apply to some maps, where all fights are close quarters. Lone Wolf is similar to Keep Away. The significant difference is for players who do not want to play with their teammates. Slideshot, on the other hand, is a more stable perk that players can use on any map, given it is not reliant on proximity to allies or opponents. Pick your perk based on your playstyle.
The right column has three perks to choose from. Opening Shot or Timed Payload. Opening Shot gives the Hand Cannon consistency with the beginning of a gunfight. Having the improved Accuracy and Range gives a higher chance to secure kills. Timed Payload is a welcome addition to frustrate your opponents. While your time to kill and accuracy do not receive significant buffs, your opponents will have a more difficult time taking you down.

Acquiring Judgment
As with other Rite of the Nine weapons, Judgment will drop from any encounter and chest in the Prophecy dungeon. A vital note while we wait for the official release of the dungeon, it is likely that there will be an extra chest, similar to Spire of the Watcher’s opening encounter chest and Ghosts of the Deep traversal chest. The expectation is that the section between the first and second encounter will deliver the extra chest.
Players can spend Nonary Manifolds at the Eternity Chest for a chance to drop Judgment. Attuning to the weapon will increase the drop chance of the Hand Cannon. Lastly, players can get four versions of Judgment: Base, Base Holofoil, Adept, and Adept Holofoil. The Adepts versions are obtainable from the Ultimatum difficulty.
