It looks like 2024 will bring more change to WWE and the way they present their programming as they’ve removed Kevin Patrick as the lead announcer of the SmackDown announce team, in addition to entering a year without Kevin Dunn running the production side of its television.

The changes

WWE recently announced that they had hired Lee Fitting as Head of Media and Production following the departure of Dunn, who had been the longtime WWE head of production.

Fans have noticed changes, such as a video featuring Chelsea Green and Piper Niven at a club to confront Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. They've done similar segments with Pete Dunne and Kevin Owens.

Realism

Pwinsider reports there was talk at Monday’s Raw and at WWE headquarters that the company will be incorporating some sports-centric elements into their programming going forward.

The report pointed out that “Cody Rhodes being interviewed on RAW ‘earlier today’ complete with the clock listing the time was an example given of trying to root the product in stronger realism. We are told that interviews will reflect this as well.”
