St. Louis Battlehawks poke fun at Rams in April Fools joke

Saturday is April Fools Day, so all of the brands on social media were doing their worst to see who could make the most eye roll inducing joke, and the sports winner might belong to the XFL's St. Louis Battlehawks.

On Saturday morning they tweeted out an obvious fake press release that made it appear the team was relocating to Los Angeles, an obvious call-back to when St. Louis' most recent NFL team, the Rams, relocated following the 2015 season.

Then they followed it up with the, "Hey we got ya!" Tweet. Hilarious.

Look, the brands are always going to try and out-brand each other on a day like this, but why do you have to take an obvious deep dig at your fan base?

Team relocations stink. People spend countless hours and dollars into supporting a franchise, and when it leaves it is crushing to a fan base and the town.

St. Louis is obviously football-hungry because it has been one of the few XFL teams that have actually done well at the box office with the fans supporting the team and even set a league attendance record earlier this season with over 38,000 fans at a game.

This is how you thank them? A joke referencing them losing a team in the most popular football league? Not really a smart move when your league is operating on a year-to-year basis.
