Jake Paul boxes Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. on June 28, as boxing insiders gave their predictions for the fight.

Paul arrives into the fight with a victory against Mike Tyson in his last fight, as the bout broke the record for being the most-watched boxing event. However, the fight did nothing to show Jake’s level since Tyson was past his prime at 57. Tyson also entered the fight wearing a compression sleeve on his knee, showing he was not at his healthiest.

Paul still has aspirations of becoming a world champion amid links with the WBC Cruiserweight Champion Baduo Jack. Paul’s only loss came against Tommy Fury, as he has also talked up that rematch.

Meanwhile, Chavez Jr. is the ex-WBC Middleweight Champion, showing he can compete at world level. However, he is no longer the same fighter. His last fight was a win against former UFC fighter Uriah Hall on the Jake Paul vs. Mike Perry undercard last year. However, he is not the most active boxer, having fought only twice since 2021. Here is how boxing insiders saw the fight playing out.

Predictions

“I think Jake should probably take him out, mainly because Jake beat Anderson Silva. And Silva beat Chavez. Sometimes it’s a triangle, sometimes it goes like that. But from what I’m seeing right now, I think Jake beats him because Jake’s bigger, Jake’s used to fighting more at that weight, and I think Jake just has more vigor right now, and will want to win more than Chavez does,” Roy Jones Jr. said

“I don’t know now at 39-years-old … yeah he was a world champion. But since then he’s been inactive, had problems with drugs…Look give him credit, he won a world title, can’t take that away from him. And here he is, getting another shot to make another payday, amazing, and here Jake Paul is keeping this thing going, keeping the dream going, give him credit,” Teddy Atlas stated

“I hope [he beats Jake Paul]. I am obviously supporting Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. I hope he wins, prepares himself really well, take it seriously, and I am with him,” Canelo revealed

“[Paul] has never fought anybody like me. Mike Tyson wasn’t even a fighter. He doesn’t know what he’s going to see or what to expect because he’s never seen it before. In boxing, you learn step by step, and he’s missing many. I haven’t seen him train at this level for many years. If he keeps this up until the fight, there is no way Jake Paul is going to beat my son,” Chavez Sr said
