Report: Walt Disney World open to NBA, MLS during coronavirus pandemic

The Most Magical Place On Earth could provide multiple North American sports leagues with homes for the foreseeable future amid the coronavirus pandemic.

On Wednesday, NBA insider Keith Smith reported Walt Disney World isn't opposed to welcoming both the NBA and Major League Soccer during the summer months:

Florida could also offer temporary training grounds for NFL teams looking for practice spots ahead of potential preseason games:

In late April, Shams Charania of The Athletic explained how the NBA could finish a season that halted on March 11 after Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert tested positive for the coronavirus by quarantining at Walt Disney World Resort.

Earlier this week, Steven Goff of the Washington Post reported MLS was considering a proposal to relocate all 26 of its clubs to Orlando until teams could again play matches at standard home-and-away venues.

Both leagues would complete games behind closed doors and without fans in attendance under the suggested plans.

On Wednesday, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis opened the state to all professional sports teams and leagues. Arizona Governor Doug Ducey is opening his state to major league sports after May 15.
