Commanders' Brian Robinson on Instagram following shooting: 'Surgery went well! Thanks for the prayers!'
Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson took to social media Monday morning to give fans an update on his status after he was shot multiple times on Sunday during an attempted carjacking. According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Robinson was shot in the glute and lower leg (non-life threatening injuries) and hasn't been ruled out yet for the 2022 season.
The shooting occurred in Washington, D.C. and the rookie back was transported to a local hospital.
Robinson led the SEC in rushing touchdowns (14) in 2021 and registered 1,343 rushing yards, 35 receptions, 296 receiving yards and two scores through the air in his final year at Alabama. In 45 college games over five seasons, he rushed for 2,704 yards and 29 touchdowns, averaging 5.0 yards per carry.
The 23-year-old Robinson was selected by the Commanders in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
