Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is always one step ahead of the game.

According to 94WIP's Howard Eskin, Roseman and the Eagles have already dove into contract extension talks with their No. 1 wide receiver A.J. Brown

"I have kind of heard different things that—whether it is preliminary discussions—they are thinking about a new contract for A.J. Brown," Eskin said Thursday on the WIP Morning Show. "Not trading A.J. Brown, they're thinking about an extension for A.J. Brown. ... They've already started some conversation with A.J. Brown's agent about an extension."

Brown is under contract with the Eagles until 2027, but getting a new deal done sooner rather than later makes so much sense with the wide receiver market constantly resetting.

The Eagles were recently able to do it with DeVonta Smith's three-year extension and saved themselves millions in the long run.

But now, Smith makes just as much as Brown at $25 million per year so there's reason to believe Brown might want more money and he deserves it as the Eagles' best offensive weapon.

Since the Eagles traded the Tennessee Titans for Brown in 2022, he's hauled in 194 receptions for 2,952 receiving yards and 18 touchdowns. He's also made back-to-back Pro Bowls.

If the Eagles can lock down Brown alongside his partner in crime (Smitty) for years to come and ultimately save money doing so, there's no doubt that Roseman will get that deal done.
