The Philadelphia Eagles announced a pair of roster moves on Tuesday and officially added players from both Super Bowl rosters.
Along with signing San Francisco 49ers running back Tyrion Davis-Price, the Eagles are inking former Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Darian Kinnard to a deal. Davis-Price was signed to a reserves/future deal, and though there's been no official report, Kinnard likely signed a similar contract.
A fifth-round pick (No. 145 overall) of the Chiefs in 2022 after a four-year career at Kentucky, Kinnard won a Super Bowl as a rookie after appearing in just one game. He spent most of last season on IR and was on the practice squad for all of 2023 before winning his second ring earlier this month.
Kinnard started 39 straight games during a 46-game career at Kentucky. He was a consensus First-Team All-American during his senior year.
Philly needs depth at tackle behind starters Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, especially with Jack Driscoll possibly on the move in free agency. The Eagles will also likely be losing Jason Kelce to retirement this offseason, creating a major hole on the offensive line.
Though it doesn't directly impact the center position, adding Kinnard to the fold could help provide depth for the unit as a whole if he makes the 53-man roster. Having him remain on the practice squad isn't a bad alternative either.
