Jason Kelce discusses what he's 'regretting' about retirement

Retired center Jason Kelce reacted to the recent news of the Philadelphia Eagles landing star running back Saquon Barkley during Wednesday's episode of the "New Heights" podcast.

The Eagles legend jokingly said he was a "little bit upset" with general manager Howie Roseman for bringing in Barkley after he had retired.

With the potential of another Super Bowl run in Philadelphia next winter, the seven-time Pro Bowler said he is "regretting" part of his retirement decision, but wouldn't be changing his mind.

"Social media has been nonstop, saying 'Jason, you sure you wanna retire?' And I'm like 'Yeah, I'm pretty positive.' Even though I'm a little upset Howie waited until I retired to make a move like this! But you know it's fine, it'll work out great," the elder Kelce brother said. "We talked about it last week. This is what I'm regretting. I knew when I retired that I was going to miss just an outstanding season for the Philadelphia Eagles. And it sucks, it really does. I wanna be a part of this so bad, I wish I could, but it doesn't suck in the way that I get to still, like 'Hey, I'm a Philadelphian. I get to watch it and celebrate it just like everybody else. So I'm excited for that."

The 36-year-old Kelce announced his retirement last week, shortly before the New York Giants decided not to place the franchise tag on Barkley, making him a free agent.

It was reported on Monday that the Eagles and the former AP Offensive Rookie of the Year had agreed to a three-year contract.

Philadelphia also saw their leading rusher from last season – Pro Bowl back D'Andre Swift – agree to a contract with the Chicago Bears on Monday.
