Steelers confirm Heinz Field is now Acrisure Stadium

Reports surfaced early Monday claiming that Heinz Field, home of the NFL's Pittsburgh Steelers, would soon be rebranded as Acrisure Stadium.

The Steelers confirmed that news Monday afternoon. Per the team's official release, Acrisure, an insurance brokerage firm out of Michigan, has a 15-year deal for the stadium. Financial terms of the agreement weren't disclosed.

The Steelers moved from Three Rivers Stadium to Heinz Field in 2001, and the Pittsburgh-based ketchup company previously held the venue's naming rights for the past 21 years. It's unclear why Heinz didn't extend its contract with the Steelers.

"We are excited to partner with Acrisure for the naming rights to our stadium," Steelers president Art Rooney II said for the official release. "Acrisure provided us with an opportunity to ensure our stadium continues to be a valuable asset for our fans as well as keeping up with the market value of NFL stadiums. We are very appreciative to partner with Greg Williams and his company, and we look forward to a long, beneficial relationship for years to come."

Williams, Acrisure co-founder, chairman and CEO, is said to be "a lifelong Steelers fan."

According to Brooke Pryor of ESPN, Acrisure recently acquired part of Pittsburgh tech company Tulco. Thomas Tull, a minority owner of the Steelers who founded Tulco, became Chairman of the Acrisure Technology Group after that acquisition was made in 2020.
