Acrisure reportedly paying over $10M per year for Steelers naming rights

Andrew Fillipponi of Pittsburgh sports radio station 93.7 The Fan first reported that Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers, would be getting a new name. It was later learned that Acrisure, an insurance brokerage firm out of Michigan, had secured the naming rights for the stadium, and the Steelers confirmed Monday afternoon that what was previously Heinz Field is now known as Acrisure Stadium.

Pittsburgh's media release did not disclose any financial terms of the agreement. However, Fillipponi later reported that "Acrisure will pay more than $10 million a year for the naming rights to the Steelers stadium."

The Steelers initially moved from Three Rivers Stadium to Heinz Field in 2001, and the Pittsburgh-based ketchup company had always held the venue's naming rights until Monday's development. According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Heinz paid an average of $2.85 million per year to have its name attached to the Steelers' stadium.

To compare, SoFi pays $20 million per year for the naming rights of the home of the Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers.
