Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt Charles LeClaire-USA TODAY Sports

The Pittsburgh Steelers sent a perfect tweet on Thursday night after T.J Watt was named the NFL’s Defensive Player of the Year.

Watt finished second in Defensive Player of the Year voting in 2020 to Aaron Donald. Watt received 20 votes, while Donald received 27.

Watt took note and shared the “I took that personally meme” in response.

Fast forward to Thursday, and Watt won the award easily.

The Steelers gave a tip of the cap to Watt by resurfacing the old tweet. They said “and he took it personally.”

Yes, Watt certainly did. He came out in 2021 completely motivated and finished the season with 64 tackles and 22.5 sacks in 15 games, while making a huge impact.

T.J. also got to share the moment with brother J.J., who has won three Defensive Player of the Year awards.
