Cleveland really paid $230 million for this.

Deshaun Watson made an early contender for worst play of the year in Week 3 against the Titans after he faced pressure and panicked, throwing the ball 10 yards behind the line of scrimmage. Luckily for Watson, wide receiver Elijah Moore managed to corral the loose ball, preventing the play from turning even more disastrous for Watson.

In his defense, maybe Watson was paying homage to former Saints quarterback Aaron Brooks.

He performed an all-time grift when he managed to get Cleveland to sign him to a five-year, $230 million contract after trading three first-round picks to Houston for him last offseason.

Despite putting up big numbers, Watson was 4-12 in his final year as a starter in Houston. He became disgruntled with the organization in 2021, which led to him sitting the entire season. Yet, somehow, Cleveland thought it was a good idea to hand a guy who spent a year away from football a historic contract.

The Browns, never an organization confused with making good decisions, appear to have made an all-time horrible decision in trading for Watson and signing him to a landmark fully guaranteed contract.

Cleveland leads hapless Tennessee 13-3 at the half and Watson has decent passing numbers (16-of-20 for 146 yards and a touchdown.) However, the defining play of the first half was Watson's worst play. While he settled down afterward, arguably no play summarizes his time in Cleveland better.
