The Calgary Flames inked Yegor Sharangovich to a two-year contract. The deal carries an AAV of $3.1 million and he will emerge from it as a UFA, two years from now.

The signing comes just one day after Sharangovich was acquired by the Flames along with a third-round pick in exchange for veteran goal-scorer Tyler Toffoli. The 25-year-old winger has played the first three seasons of his NHL career with the New Jersey Devils. This past season, he scored 13 goals and 30 points in 75 games played.

Sharangovich was originally a fifth-round pick of the Devils in the 2018 NHL Draft. He played his draft year with the Minsk Dynamo of the KHL, scoring 11 points in 47 games there. Without much expectations set out for the young Belorussian, he made the transition to North American hockey the following season. He put up eight goals and 17 points in 68 games for the Binghamton Devils in the AHL.

The next season he got more comfortable with the AHL, scoring 10 goals and 25 points in 57 games for Binghamton. Sharangovich made the jump to the NHL for the 2020-21 season, but because it was shortened due to COVID-19, he split the season between the NHL and KHL.

With the Devils, he had a fantastic NHL rookie season, scoring 16 goals and 30 points in 54 games, a 23-goal, 45-point pace over 82 games. He also notched 25 points in 34 KHL games with the Dynamo finishing second on the team in goals.

Sharangovich had his best season to date in 2021-22, scoring 24 goals and 46 points in 76 games, showing a glimpse of what he is capable of in the NHL. He is entering the prime of his career and will play an important role on the Flames in the coming years.

In his NHL career, Sharangovich has 53 goals and 106 points in 205 games.
