Salernitana have confirmed Morgan De Sanctis’ exit by mutual consent.

The Granata have recently appointed Walter Sabatini as the new sports director. Sabatini has returned to the club after one year.

The Serie A strugglers, who meet Milan at the Stadio Arechi tonight, have now confirmed De Sanctis’ exit “by mutual consent.”

Club President Danilo Iervolino said: “I want to thank De Sanctis and his staff for their work and professionalism which helped Salernitana secure a second historic survival in Serie A. The club will surely benefit from what they’ve done over the years, best of luck to them in the world of football.”

De Sanctis, a former Roma and Napoli goalkeeper, said: “I thank the President and everyone at Salernitana for this year and a half we spent together. I am proud to have contributed to the best Serie A season in the history of Salernitana and I want to thank the staff for helping and supporting me in developing the Salernitana brand. I will forever be tied to this club and their amazing fans and I wish them to earn survival.”
