First off, who would have ever guessed Charles Barkley is an Eric Clapton fan? Well, apparently in 1994 Barkley went to a Clapton concert and left the show with blurred vision. Only Sir Charles could have something like that happen to him.

Clint Barmes and his venison

In 2005, Rockies shortstop Clint Barmes fell down a flight of stairs carrying venison meat. The incident left Barmes with a broken collarbone. That better have been some tasty venison.

Wade Boggs attempts to put on cowboy boots

Red Sox third basemen Wade Boggs injured his ribs in 1986 trying to put on a pair of cowboy boots. If you’ve ever tried to put on cowboys boots, you understand.

In 2015, Spurs center Matt Bonner developed tennis elbow, blaming his new smartphone for being than his old one. We can only imagine the look on coach Gregg Popovich’s face when Bonner told him of the injury.

Orlando Brown takes a flag to the eye

In typical Browns’ luck, Cleveland lineman Orlando Brown took a flag in the eye from a referee in a 1999 NFL game. This injury left Brown partially blind in the afflicted eye.

Plaxico Burress shoots himself in the foot (well, leg)

Super Bowl champion wide receiver Plaxico Burress essentially ended his NFL career in 2008, when a firearm he was carry discharged in a New York nightclub. Burress had accidentally shot himself in the leg. Because New York City has such strict gun laws, Burress was forced to serve jail time for the incident. In the end, one bullet to his own thigh cost Plaxico Burress two years of his career.

In May 2014, Giants starter Matt Cain was placed on the DL after he sliced his index finger attempting to make a ham and cheese sandwich. Can’t these athletes just pay for a personal chef?

Santiago Canizares just wants to smell nice

Former Spanish international goalkeeper Santiago Canizares cut a tendon in his big toe in 2002 when a bottle of cologne broke into shards of glass on his foot. The injury forced Canizares to miss the 2002 World Cup.

Former outfielder Marty Cordova had a decent career in the Majors. Unfortunately for Cordova, most baseball fans remember him as the player who fell asleep in a tanning bed, causing burns on his body that forced him to miss playing time.

The plastic wrap that comes with a new DVD is pretty darn annoying to take off, but White Sox outfielder Adam Eaton got a little too frustrated with it. Eaton accidentally stabbed himself in the stomach with a knife trying to open up a movie to put in his new Blu-ray player.

Often injured throughout his NBA career, Pervis Ellison’s most embarrassing injury came when he tried to carry a table. It was ironic to say the least, as Ellison was the player who carried Louisville to the 1989 NCAA National Championship.

After making a field goal in a game against the Giants, Cardinals kicker Bill Gramatica leaped up into the air in celebration. When he came back to Earth, Gramatica landed with a torn ACL.

In 2003, he injured his leg swinging an ax in the Jags locker room. As to why he was swinging the ax in the first place, apparently a pep talk from then coach Jack Del Rio got Hanson hyped up.

No one likes nightmares, and almost no one likes spiders. Well, when former Toronto Blue Jays and Seattle Mariners outfielder Glenallen Hill had a nightmare about spiders in 1990, he jumped out of bed and crashed through a glass table. Hill suffered several severe cuts form the incident.
