Cara Delevingne added to 'Only Murders in the Building' cast: 'So excited'

Selena Gomez, Steve Martin and Martin Short are calling in for backup.

According to Deadline and Variety on Wednesday (Dec. 1), Cara Delevingne is joining the cast of Hulu's Only Murders in the Building for its second season as a series regular. The 29-year-old actress, model and musician will play a character named Alice, "a sophisticated art world insider who becomes enmeshed in the mystery."

Delevingne reposted the news in her Instagram Story, writing "SO EXCITED" alongside it.

Created by Martin and John Hoffman, Only Murders premiered Aug. 31. The crime dramedy centers around Charles (Martin), Mabel (Gomez) and Oliver (Short), three strangers who live in the same apartment building and cross paths when one of their neighbors in murdered. The trio become obsessed with solving the mystery, chronicling their rogue investigation through a podcast.

The series was renewed for a second season in mid-September, only halfway through its first season. To further illustrate how much (and how quickly) people loved the show, Only Murders became "the most-watched comedy ever on Hulu" (h/t Vulture).
